Sharing
Added files are offered to everyone, including later arrivals. Keep the page open to share; select ordinary files again after a reload. They are not copied into browser storage. Only accept files from people you trust; anyone with the room link can join.
Folders are shared as ZIP snapshots. Nested files are preserved; empty directories are omitted. Save the ZIP and extract it to use the folder.
Receiving
Received files stay in this browser across reloads. Save exports a copy; “Save requested” does not confirm the export finished. Delete local copy removes the stored file. Interrupted transfers must be restarted.
Local storage
Protect local files asks the browser to reduce automatic eviction. It may refuse. Clearing site data deletes all local copies; save important files elsewhere. Storage quota and available disk limit transfer sizes.
Connections
The server hosts the webpage and forwards connection setup only. File bytes travel through encrypted WebRTC DataChannels, never through the webpage/signaling server. Direct connections may fail on restrictive networks; a separate TURN relay can help. When used, encrypted file traffic passes through that relay. Host over HTTPS outside localhost.
POC limits: 12 peers, 100 shared items, 10,000 files per folder.
